Resolution problem

With no special reason (there was no configuration changes or driver installations), my system (OpenSuse 10.1) boots with 640x480 resolution. If I boot Kubuntu live cd (6.06 or 6.10) it also starts X with 640x480 resolution. Earlier, live CDs were booted with normal resolution.
What could be the problem? It seems like a hardware issue...

check log files in /var/log ..
/var/log/Xorg.0.log - X startup log

Graphic is ok when I use "vesa" driver instead of "radeon" driver, although everything worked ok with "radeon" driver earlier. I presume that live Kubuntu also starts X with "radeon" driver and gets 640x480 reso, but live Kubuntu was being started in appropriate resolution earlier.
What could cause "radeon" driver not to work?
