Resizing Windows to dual-boot with Linux

Hi,

In remember coming across an bootable Linux distro which had a GUI partitioning tool for resizing Windows, which I would like to do because I want to put Linux onto a computer without removing Windows. There is only one partition, which is taken up by Windows, so I'm just looking to resize it to half it's size and put Linux on the other half of the drive. Any ideas?

Would QTParted on Kanotix work?

[EDIT]

I'd prefer a small distro which has QTParted because I don't have an amazing connection, so the faster I can download it the better. Thanks

Systemrescuecd has done the job for me several times in the past. You might also take a peek at this tutorial.

Thanks! Don't worry I've dual-booted more than once, I've just never needed to resize the partition before the actual installation! Thanks a lot for that distro - I'm already downloading it!

If you want to resize Windows partition without data loss, you may have a look at the first link in my signature. It always worked for me

Cool thanks! Many thanks to both of you for contributing both those pages - they're both very useful but as I've already started on Berhanie's method I think I'll just do it that way!

P.S Both those pages have been added to my Bookmarks!

Yeh that's the one used in kornerr's tut! I'm just glad to hear it's widely used!
