Resizing a terminal opened with CTRL-T in Konqueror
 

I have slackware 9.1 and kde 3.2.

When I open a terminal from the Konqueror file manager with CTRL-T (or Tools/Open Terminal in the menus), bash does not seem to know when the terminal windows change size. That is it always think there are 80 lines by 24 columns (echo $LINES $COLUMNS). If I click session/new shell in the menu then the new one behaves correctly but not the first one. I noticed the problem because if I open a term with ctrl-T, make it larger, then type a line longer then 80 columns, it will wrap around at the 80th column on the same line (not the next one).

I don't have this problem when opening a terminal windows from the task bar or the kicker. I have this behaviour on the two system (different hardware) on which I have installed Slackware. I don't know if KDE 3.1 did the first thing prior to the upgrade to 3.2.

Anyone has any idea of what's causing this?
