resize logical volume - resize2fs says Couldn't find valid filesystem superblock
 
Hello,

I am trying to resize a logical volume and the corresponding partition.
I increased the logical volume size to 100GB (from 4GB):

lvextend -L100G /dev/vg00/var

And then I tried to resize the filesystem:

resize2fs /dev/vg00/var

I get the following error message:

resize2fs 1.39 (29-May-2006)
resize2fs: Filesystem has unsupported feature(s) while trying to open
/dev/vg00/var Couldn't find valid filesystem superblock.

How do I resize the filesystem? The logical volume has 100GB, but the mounted filesystem only has 4GB?

solved: should have called resize4fs

That's a very old version of e2fsprogs. Any reasonably current version of resize2fs would (er, should) have worked.
What distro/kernel are you running (uname -a) ?.
