Replay Gain for Flac in Rhythmbox

Does anyone know if Rhythmbox supports replaygain in FLAC files?

I've enabled replaygain for Rhythmbox in gconf

Code:

$: gconftool-2 --set -t boolean /apps/rhythmbox/use_replaygain true
and my mp3 and ogg music files do sound about right, but the FLAC ones are all playing at different volumes.

Replaygain was originally applied to the flac files using the --replay-gain option when encoding. I have just removed this original replaygain information and rescanned for replaygain using Foobar2000 in Windows, but it makes no difference when playing back in Rhythmbox.

Replaygain on flac files does seem to work fine in both Foobar2000 and QuodLibet.

It is a simple matter to recode your audio files with the gain applied. See my post http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ms-4175579909/
