Rent-a-grid computer?
I was wondering if anyone knew of any services where you could rent out a bunch of computers in a grid or a cluster that would charge per gigabyte and usage?
We need to do a lot of number crunching and we need dedicated high-powered computers to do this for us. It would obviously have to be cheaper than purchasing our own computer.
From way out here in the boondooks of east central Illinois, I just did a google search of Berkeley yellow pages ("computer rental" Berkeley) and turned up several which cater to corporate users. A few phone calles may solve your problem.

Thanks! I was going to call these places up on Monday and see if they offer any of these services at affordable rates. I don't care where the cluster is located, as long as it is secure, accessible, and cheap!
I even called up my institution where I work and they do offer computer rentals at their data center, but it's $167/month!
