remove a module


hi

how to remove a module in a permanent way?
only need to comment a line in /etc/modprobe.conf?

rm /lib/modules/2.x.x./kernel/path/to/module

will surely have some problem if we remove the module this way....

the line in the modprobe.conf will not be erased

You asked for permanent removal of the module.

If you just don't want to use it you will a) have to
modify modules.conf or modprobe.conf (depending
on which kernel you're using) and b) blacklist the
modules in /etc/hot-plug blacklist if you're using
kernel hot-plugging.
