Reiserfs: bad block in sysem area (usage of dd_rescue)

Hi All

My HDD controller decided to die and dumped a bad block in the system area of Reiserfs.

I know that I could use dd_rescue (or ddrescue) to copy to another disc and fsck it - but I don't have another disc large enough and getting one will take some time.

According Namesys (from whence comes Reiserfs):
"You can try to write to all bad blocks with dd or dd_rescue program, the drive will probably be able to remap them to good ones".

OK, worth a try. My question: exactly how does one do this?

I know the number of a bad block, how do I say "write something to this block"?

Cheers
