Hey guys, how do you reduce a already existing partition with LVM without re-formating..

increasing, I use lvresize to increase the parition (lv) and then resize2fs to increase the filesystem.

You want to reduce the size of an ext3 file system on an LVM volume? Lots of places give that information.

You want to change the size of a partition that is used by LVM (it is an LVM physical volume). You can't; you have to move the LVM data somewhere else, delete the partition and make a new one etc.
