redirect INIT: messages
 

Hello,
I am trying to redirect INIT: messages somewhere other than /dev/console , a file would be fine or a fixed device like /dev/tty2.
Why? Our linux application turns a serial port on/off, and this creates an INIT message every time, which upsets the fragile console operator.
I have tried removing /dev/console, and relink to something else, but I loose startup/shutdown progress info , maybe I cant have my cake and ....
