Don't switch to exim

It seems that it can't be done with exim. Or at least not without a huge amount of effort and lots of reconfiguration. I need to switch, because I am getting sick of having messages sent from my computer (atd, anachron, etc) via gmail to an address that does not exist.

Sendmail is on the box and is used by most programs to send mail, but I'd also like any mail sent to the root user to be redirected/forwarded too.

Google *is* useful in this case. I found this post via google,
and the solution (
