Redhat hangs on boot when initrd should load

Hello all,

My first post and I already need help.

Anyway. I have Redhat 8 installed on a Dell Poweredge 600sc. Power went out and now it won't boot. I used the rescue option on the cd and fixed my dirty partitions but it still hangs at the point that initrd should be loading.

Not sure what info you need from me but please just ask and I'll post it.

Thanks very much,
Brian

I'm a bit of a newbie so forgive me if I'm inaccurate. The system makes it through GRUB as far as I understand it. It starts the boot cycle and loads the kernel. After kjournald starts and you get the memory freed message normally it would start initrd. However it doesn't and just hangs there. Would that still be GRUB related? It seems like it wouldn't but maybe I don't quite understand everything GRUB is doing.

Thanks,
Brian
