Red Hat 7.3, where are the floppy and cd-rom icons

I did a fresh install of Red Hat 7.3, and there are no floppy and cd-rom drive icons on my desktop, either for root or my user.

In rh72, they were there. Does anybody know what the problem is?

If you're using KDE, try right-clicking on the desktop and going to 'add device'. You should be able to add them from there by entering the mountpoints and whether they're to be fstab mounted or not (can't really remember - been a while since I used KDE). If you're using Gnome...try something similar.

Ok. But I don't know why Red Hat 7.3/KDE 3.0 didn't just add them by default?!?

Once I added the Floppy Device, when I click on the icon, it pops open a Konqueror box with the following address:

http://navigation.realnames.com/reso...Fq%3Dfile%253A

What's up with that?

But if I actually right-click and mount it, then when I click on it, it opens up a browser box to go to /mnt/floppy and everything is normal.

It's only when the floppy is unmounted that this happens when I click on the icon and it pops open that weird address. Has anyone else seen this?
