red hat 7.2 screen blank

I am completely new to linux world. I saw post out on the forum with similar problem to mine, but not really sure on what file to modify to get my display resolution to set correctly and to be able to see the GUI interface. Currently the server boots into GUI and screen goes bland. I have Compaq pl1600 with 3200 raid controller running raid 5, 5 9.1 gig drives and 500 MB of memory. Thanks in advance for the help.

The easiest way to reconfigure your video card is probably to run Xconfigurator mine is at:

Yours might be in a different place if you just type in that line above and hit enter it should start through configuring your video card. You can also configure it manually but I do not know that way well enough to put it down here.
