Question Really Simple Question -- Please help!

I just downloaded Suse Linux 7.1 PPC for my old Mac so that I can tinker with it and learn Linux that way. Problem is, I downloaded the software from an FTP server and I don't know how to make an install disk. Since I didn't download it as an ISO image, I don't know what files/folders I need to burn onto a CD in order to begin installing it. So basically, I have gigs of software sitting on my desktop which I don't know what to do with.

Do any of you know what I should do or if there are any sites which can instruct me on this? Better yet, do any of you know of any sites which I can download an ISO image of the latest Suse Linux PPC edition that is ordered the same way as the CDs that come in the commercial package?

Thanks a million in advance!

Cheers.

Just go to this site www.linuxiso.org and select the distro you want.

There is also documentation on the site, if you need help; if that documentation doesn't help you much just come back here for help.

I've actually gone to that site as well as a couple of others. They don't have a PPC version of Suse available as an ISO and they don't have any instructions which I can use to create my own install disk based on what I've downloaded either. Any other suggestions?

Thanks for your reply btw!

Cheers.

I don't know if it works with PPC, but there is a boot disk method of installtion. If you can, create a boot disk (needed image should be in the files you have) and start installation from it.
