really laggy gameplay

Hi~

I installed winex the other day, and my gameplay was really laggy. i wasn't really surprised though, because after all, it is wine. however, today i opened up tux racer and i got the same, really really really laggy frame rate (about 1 per second).

i suspect that there is something wrong with my opengl libraries because i can't use ogl screen savers either.

i'm running redhat 8, with plenty of memory and a good graphics card. my windows manager is fluxbox (although i'm positive that isn't wat the prolem is).

Any help any one could give would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Andrew

you should not need winex to play tuxracer since it is a linux app

i know that. the reason i told u about tux is because it shows that winex isn't the thing that is lagging. the reason i told u about the screen savers is to indicate there is something wrong w/ ogl. can ne1 help?

ok~ it turned out i had edited my /etc/X11/XF86Config incorrectly, so it wasn't using the right modules- i fixed it, and now tux and opengl apps can run fine.

the menu draws for winex are still really really laggy though, and it keeps crashing before i can enter a server to test my frame rate. ne ideas?
