dunno how many out there even play or know what this game is.. but i like it, and have hosted RVS servers on my M$ machine and was wondering if anyone has a rvs server for *nix? i know one of the readme files for the setup of the (win32) server mentions how to startup the server with linux.. yet cant find a linux rvs server
main thing is i would like to see how much better it would run on a soley dedicated linux machine for it. dont know if it exists though
ya, thats the one i downloaded (initially, updated now though).. thats the win32 server i was talking about.
i cant find the linux one, doesnt make sense
nope, i cant find anything about linux in it, except those few lines in the readme..
i got it to work in win32, and afew weeks ago i copied the entire folder over to my users home folder and running it from there but it gave errors.. ill be reinstalling slack 10.1 tonight and try it again.
it contains all .dlls, and .exes... i dont see how it could work?
Look for a .bin or .run or .sh in the package.
It might also be .zip that you have to 'unzip filename.zip' within the package itself. Those MS programmers package linux stuff all funky
in the readme file it gives you an example script file you can use to start the server, and says to call it foobar.sh, so thats the .sh file. but still.. if the ucc is compiled as a win32 executable file, and it relies on all the win32 .dll's.. is it even possible it would work?
