Rant

I am sure you guys already saw this. The email sent to the Linux Action Show. I thought it was funny and some how true
Quote:
Hi Chris, Matt, and Mike from Coder Radio.
We Linux folks like to hate on non Linux beings.
We <name your distro> Linux like to hate on those who don't use <name your distro> Linux.
We all love to hate on Ubuntu.

Even within Linux camp, we like to hate on others who don't like our favourite desktop environment. Now, we all hate on Mir.

We hate on Apple and we hate on Microsoft and we hate on Oracle.

On the development side, we hate on C# and we hate on Java and we hate on Rails and we hate on PHP. We hate hate to write less code and we hate to write a little more. We hate on... everything. And we like so very little. And then we disagree and hate even more.

We see someone spreading the hate and we promptly jump on the bandwagon. Sometimes it feels like the only thing we love is to hate.
We hate so much!

Are we a bunch of very difficult to please 3 year olds?
Or may be we are what we are? Americans!

Can't we simply just respect others' rights to their own opinions and agree to disagree? Or may be we hate that thought as well?

May be instead of taking personally, every criticism directed towards things we like, and taking to arms to defend it, we should take a deep breath, count till 5, and begin any response with a smile
Hate mails can be sent directly to /dev/null

Peace!

interesting. rant followed by example.

not so funny IMHO. too much hate. too little thinking about implications of convictions. too little intellectual integrity or congruence with reality.

it gets very expensive and quite tragic.
