RAM drive vs CDROM boot
I am currently trying an install using LFS distro. However, my ultimate goal is to make either a distro that loads from a CDROM drive or hdd and creates a RAM drive and runs completely out of RAM or to create an install that runs only from a CDROM drive. I was wondering if anyone else had looked at these things and had any tips. Here is what I need it to do.
Have basic kernel options to run a router, ie ip masq...
have iptables loaded
have two NIC drivers
have ssh installed for configuration on the fly from int lan
I have the iptables firewall/router script already done. However I want to set it up like this so that I don't need a hdd in the system to fail on me or be able to load everything into RAM from the hdd and then unmount the hdd.
any suggestions or hints welcome
thanks
