quota.user or aquota.user

First time post people, I have a problems getting user disk quota's running on RHELWS4. It is running on a compaq laptop.
I have documentation that states that I must create the files quota.user and quota.group. I also have some tutorials that say the files that need to be created are aquota.user and aquota.group. Which is correct? And is the command quotacheck -a supposed to clear out the contents of the above files?

All the best all, Brian.

I don't know which part is your problem, so i just simply tell you how to make quota:-
-add 'usrquota, grpquota' inside partition you want to set quota in fstab
-run 'quotacheck -avug'
-run 'edquota -u'
-run 'quota -v user1' (information for user1)
-run 'edquota -u user1' (edit quota user1) or -g group1 (edit quota group1)
-run 'edquota -p user1 *' (make all user have same quota with user1)

Regards,
Ks
