I was using fedora11 in dual boot with WinXP in my laptop. One (fine) day it got crashed for no good reason(I think I did something by root login when doing scripting ...). I had a live usb of Scientific Linux 5.3 and knew that it's based on RHEL source code.
So last night I installed Scientific Linux5.3 and found it's not much different than FC11 or RHEL5.3 that I used to use before. but I find it interesting for some reason to use.
I found no forum for this Linux so I'm posting the thread here and request all the experts to share their views and ideas about Scientific Linux and guide me further.
As I already discussed in my earlier threads that I'm a previous RH user so I find it easier and use Linux for scripting and programming purpose.
Many thanks in advance. You guys are doing amazing work here.
There is no particular question ; I just want to take inputs from the experts about their experience with Scientific Linux (As I found no thread regarding this one/no forum also). Why I seek their advice is because I mentioned I found Scientific Linux very familiar to me as FC11 and RH user, so I want to keep working on this one.

Thanks a lot again for your time my friend.
Sorry, this isn't a cybernetic tea party. Why not Google for "Scientific Linux" and see what you come up with?

lutusp,
Pardon me if you feel my thread doesn't go well with your thoughts; But if you do not wish to post your suggestions about the Distro here (or you don't know about that one), I'd request you NOT TO post any other comment that you shouldn't.
If you can not help anybody, you should not demoralize at least.
Everyone's smart here to Google and get any info HOWEVER my intentions are to interact with EXPERTS HERE.
Hope it makes sense to you.

Now that everyone has kissed and made up, I'll just say that I've never used scientific linux and never even heard of it.
I have no clue what would make it different than any other linux distro; I have lots of scientific packages on my Mandriva distro...which I sometimes use...

"Scientific Linux" is one of the relabeled RHEL releases, sort of like Centos.

Well, its another (like, eg, Centos) remastered RH, the name can be a bit deceptive. While it was put together by a collection of scientific institutes (CERN & Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory), it isn't particularly scientific in the sense of having some expertise in simulation, mathematical modelling, etc with the exception of R.
Its got extra stuff for clustering and HPC, if that's of interest, though.
