question?, X + muti monitors + multi compuers over network

ok, so i reallllly love the keyboard on my laptop, more then this crammy keyboard I'm using now with lights in it.

since i have a laptop, and its keyboard is great, but the keyboard on my computer stinks .... and i always wanted to have a 2nd monitor where i can do extra stuff in (like play a game on the computer monitor, and look at system stats on a different one), but theres the problem. They are 2 different computers, and i want to use a keyboard on one, to work an another. If possible, i want to switch the keyboard between what monitor it goes to, the pointer device i want to do the same, or have each computer use its own (thee laptop has a touchpad, but i hate em, and would like to share the trackball). i looked at xinerama, but it seems to be limited to only 1 computer?, or did i miss something (i cant dig up much info on xinerama, all i get are a useless website, or info on how to use multi heads ... i read em, but i get the impression xinerama doesn't work over network (combining 2 xservers into one). (also the laptop runs at a slightly less color depth then the desktop computer)

is there anyway i can get what i want with this?

i am not sure that i completely understand what it is you want to accomplish but you may want to look into synergy

http://sourceforge.net/projects/synergy2/

hope this helps
