Querry regarding ps command

Hi,

When we use ps command there is a field called TIME, I didn't undestand what that exactly indicates. Since almost all the time it shows 00:00:00 for the most of the processes.

when i looked in "man 5 proc" page, i found the time fields as
"stime"
"cutime"
"cstime"
which were in giffy format...can u plz explain abt the conversion of this in to human redable format..... and also explain the TIME field.

Regards

Shivanand

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
