hi there, i'm following this Qemu how-to

and i'm trying to install windows 98 inside of Fedora Core 3. but it's not so clear about this .iso that uses, i can rip my windows 98 iso but then were do i put it?

You don't actually need to....

The QEMU virtual machine can either use an ISO image as the CD-ROM drive, or access the real CD-ROM on your machine:

Here the author is using an ISO image (I've added the path /home/me/stuff/ so that you can see):

qemu -hda ubuntuimage -cdrom /home/me/stuff/warty-i386.iso -m 192 -boot d

To do the same with a real CD drive (assuming it's /dev/cdrom on your FC3 system):

qemu -hda ubuntuimage -cdrom /dev/cdrom -m 192 -boot d

I haven't had any luck with Windows 98 inside Qemu, Windows 2000 installs though.

I've been searching for this answer for hours - everywhere people were doubting qemu could boot from cd yet.... I eventually figured out that I was flaggin the cdrom for boot incorrectly because of this thread. THANKS!!!! ...now if I could only figure out how to build the qemu accellerator module into my kernel.
