PV/VG specs differ !

Hi Guys :

Not sure for the strange reason why thats happening..

I am using RHEL 6

I created 3 PVs /dev/sda{7,8,9}, each sizing 500M, 600M, 700M 'respectively'
and then after creating them i displayed them using pvs and vgs commands, and saw something strange.
The sizing i provided above was not the same i saw in display.

Here's the output :

[root@localhost Desktop]# fdisk -l

Disk /dev/sda: 16.1 GB, 16106127360 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 1958 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x000eaac5

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 26 204800 83 Linux
Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/sda2 26 791 6144000 83 Linux
Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/sda3 791 982 1536000 82 Linux swap / Solaris
Partition 3 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/sda4 982 1959 7842816 5 Extended
/dev/sda5 982 1110 1024000 83 Linux
/dev/sda6 1110 1632 4197136+ 83 Linux
/dev/sda7 1633 1697 522081 83 Linux
/dev/sda8 1698 1774 618471 83 Linux
/dev/sda9 1775 1864 722893+ 83 Linux

[root@localhost Desktop]# pvcreate /dev/sda{7,8,9}
Physical volume "/dev/sda7" successfully created
Physical volume "/dev/sda8" successfully created
Physical volume "/dev/sda9" successfully created

[root@localhost Desktop]# vgcreate vg_one /dev/sda{7,8,9}
Volume group "vg_one" successfully created

[root@localhost Desktop]# pvs
PV VG Fmt Attr PSize PFree
/dev/sda7 vg_one lvm2 a- 532.00m 532.00m
/dev/sda8 vg_one lvm2 a- 780.00m 780.00m
/dev/sda9 vg_one lvm2 a- 780.00m 780.00m

[root@localhost Desktop]# vgs
VG #PV #LV #SN Attr VSize VFree
vg_one 3 0 0 wz--n- 2.04g 2.04g

Notice that the Size of 3 PVs /dev/sda{7,8,9}, should have been 500M, 600M, 700M respectively, which is not.
And the total space in VG should show around 1800M, instead of what it shows as 2.04GB. :-/

Pls advice.
