do you use need a proxy?
Did you set up the proxy yourself?

is it on all websites?

start with disabling the proxy in Firefox.

Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.
It's not a problem with Firefox but with the proxy you are using.
Did you change anything? Think address or port typo or firewall block.
Are you using the right proxy? While seldom, ISP's *can* change IP addresses.
Did you try another proxy? Some ISP's have multiple proxy addresses.
Did you try a traceroute to the IP address? Just to see if you can reach it and it isn't a network problem.

Hey!!!
Thanks both of you for your replies.
Well, to be honest the last thing that i did and that was related to my ports was the ctorrent. That was the only thing. I remember that i passed a port to the program as a parameter which was out of the recomended range. Sorry but i dont remember the number of the port.
I read an article about Ctorrent which was saying that we can use other ports. Which i tried

Sorry, I just remember that i installed Macromedia to the firefox. Yeah. That was wiard because i visited a web-site that i could not access because of macromedia although that i had accessed the same web-site before.
This has been the most recent change that i've made since the problem.

Please reread the replies and try to address all questions / hints, not just one or two.

Hey again
Well, It is not a network problem as soon as i can access the web with Konquerror. The problem should come from firefox.
It did what you said (try to disable the setting Directly connect to Internet) but i found some other options as well which are:
1 Automatically detect proxy settings(checkbutton)
2 Use the following proxy configuration URL
3 Use preset proxy enviroments variables
4 Manually specify the proxy settings

At option 3 and 4 there some setup buttons at the end

To be honest i am not really familiar with all of these
Any advice would be grateful.

Thanks for your time
