Going Crazy trying to get LINUX loaded on acquired Server. Compaq Proliant 1000...Has EISA CD-ROM, Smart Array Controller, DAT, Floppy and not a lot of Memory...49M total.

Have searced and found several "cookbook" recipe's and thur far no real success. I have been able to finally get the CD-ROM to be recognized under Redhat 6.0, but after install, won't boot. Even with rescue disk. Can anyone steer me in a path that will end with some...any version of linux on this old box....even though price was right, it may cost my sanity....Bob
