Project Name: Keep Newb Interested

I have done all the newb things. I have installed fluxbox (I cant count how many times). I installed and am running native NWN. I like games. My computers are more gaming machines. I haven’t reupped my transgaming subscription so none native games are pretty much out. I tried wine a while ago… wasn’t a fan.

Things I want to know.

I installed NWN. What if I want to uninstall it. How do I go about that?

Fluxbox – An impressive little WM with ewws and awws capabilities for the Windows minded people, Icons? Shortcuts? How to create both? How to create a shortcut for NWN or foobilliard or MC?

I want a project. Something of interest. Something I need to figure out. I know how to ./configure, make, make install, rpmbuild –rebuild, rpm –Uvh. I am tired of this. I can install stuff with minimal problems. I want to install something that will help me create a better linux experience. Something different. Something Windows doesn’t offer. I don’t know how to uninstall .tar’s.

Keep my interest. Im getting bored. Just looking for ideas.

Check out the Fluxbox Homepage for some utilities to add icons and other functionality to Fluxbox.

Why not just search for these things on the internet? All the info is out there and searching is a very basic skill required for any project.

All of those questions can be answered with a search in www.google.com/linux

im not sure if that sarcasm or serious, but ill answer your question anyways.

first off youll want to look into checkinstall, it allows you to install a tarball as a package (rpm, deb, or tgz) it works by replacing "make install" just go ./configure, make, checkinstall. that simple.

also, my new "toy" is webmin, its much easier to install & use than I thought it would be, look into it. (dont let it spoil you though, its bad to neglect config files)
