Programming the Function Keys

I tried various instructions on the web for programming the function keys, but I could not get them to work. I'm running Fedora, tcsh, and no X server. Can someone tell me how to program the function keys so that, for example, whenever I press F1, it types "Hello World"?

Thanks

Hmmm...you'll probably need to search around for keybinding software, this type of thing isn't normally done without the X server running. Many window managers provide built-in keybinding.
