.profile not being executed when running xbmc-live

hi, i got this line in my .profile:
Code:
xbmc@XBMCLive:~$ cat .profile
echo `date` -- calling hyper-remount >> /home/xbmc/hyper.mnt
but that line isnt appended to the output unless i ssh into my pc ?

it used to spit out the output (as well as sshfs mount my pc upstairs) but now it seems to have stopped processing my .profile unless i log in with my keyboard.
