the only thing wrong with this is the base address for my vid card. I'm unsure how to remove this line and enter the correct one. I thought i could just echo the correct parameters but i'm curious on how i'd remove the line. I'm able to vi into it but can't save it (i imagine it must be an important system file then.) Anyone run into this?

Rep:
/proc is a pseudo fs. It displays current values the kernel is using and allows you change certain kernel behavior on the fly. But it should revert on reboot. Most files in /proc are readonly, except for some that are rw for root. (There may be exceptions to that. Not sure.) Are you _sure_ that isn't the base addres for your vid card?
