You can use force and nodeps together.

whansard, I tried that also, it didn't do anything differently.

I fixed it by getting a differetn 1.2.6 RPM off of rpmfind.net than the one I was trying to use, there were a few to choose from. It worked after I did rpm -Uvh galeon* --nodeps --force.

1.2.6 is the stable one - the one which came with redhat 8.
