Have you read any of the Howto's at www.tldp.org ?? http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/PCMCIA-HOWTO.html ...would be a good place to start.

I also changed your thread title, a more detailed thread title helps out members answering questions than just a "help me" or "slackware expert needed."

Also to let you know for future reference, we have a Slackware specific forum here under Distributions as well to ask questions regarding Slackware.

I just grep'ed (funny how that's becoming a verb) through /etc/pcmcia on a Slack box and didn't find a bind line in the config file for that model of card. Slack 8.0's pcmcia is getting old... okay, its getting downright precambrian. How new is this card in the scheme of the world?

First off, upon card insertion there should be two tones, a high pitched beep and (if it loaded the module) another nearly identical beep. If it didn't find one, a low toned bonk.

Cheers,

Finegan
