problem with window manager

When starting the pc, i'm unable to run any window manager, i read that could be related with the .xinitrc file, but i don't have that file in my home directory!!!
p.s. i'm working with a suse 9.3 professional

It would have been really cool if you posted an error message, maybe try that next time

Try running sax (I think that's Suse) or xorgconfig. They'll fix you up.
