Hi, I'm trying to get my ftp server up with vsftp on FC5.
If I start up the vsftpd with /usr/sbin/vsftpd /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf, works OK.
But if I use /etc/rc.d/init.d/vsftpd start I get an error at login:
[root@dess home]# ftp xx.xx.xx.xx
Connected to xx.xx.xx.xx.

When you start vsftpd with "/etc/rc.d/init.d/vsftpd start" it could be that it loads the config from /etc/vsftpd.conf in stead of /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf
So maybe you can see if /etc/vsftpd.conf exists and if not then just make a softlink to /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf to see if it helps.
