This means that part 1 of the solution, namely to give you a shell with root access, has worked. The next step is to actually fix root's login shell settings in the /etc/passwd file, that are causing the error.
So, at the above prompt, open /etc/passwd file in your favorite text editor, go to the line that contains the entry for "root" user and modify its last field (changing "bash" into "/bin/bash"). Then save the file & exit the editor.
Alternatively, just type in "chsh" at this prompt. If it can't find the "chsh" command, don't worry, and revert back to editing /etc/passwd as I mentioned above.
