problem with netscape

When I go to a webpage with a java applet embeded in it, netscape terminates with this error:

java_vm: relocation error: /usr/local/netscape/plugins/java2/lib/i386/libjava.so: symbol __libc_wait, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Could not read ack from browser
System error?:: Resource temporarily unavailable

It looks like your JVM is having problems with shared libraries. I use Mozilla http://www.mozilla.org with Sun's JDK 1.4 http://java.sun.com and the Applets work fine.

so do I. Netscape6 used to work fine until I upgraded my system.
