problem with hyper terminal in Red hat linux


i have a hardware design which is completely tested and verified on windows os. my hardware is connected to hyper terminal. when ever i give a command from hyper terminal then my hardware will response in what way i need.
as i am new to linux os i don't know how to open or how to configure hyper terminal in linux. i stopped my work completely.

please give any solution for this

A couple of suggestions for equivalent applications similar to hyperterminal are minicom or CuteCom which is GUI based.
