Hi! I am using RedHat 9 and Windows Xp. I have partitioned my hard disk in order to install both OS. Win Xp is installed in the MBR and RedHat in a secondary partition. The problem is that i recently created a new partition in order to keep there some files and since then none of the OS can be booted. I used GRUB installed in the MBR. I could only enter RedHat by using the boot disk. Here are mu questions:

* Which loader is better? LILO or GRUB?

* Where is better to install the loader? In the MBR or in the partition that is used for linux?

* Are there any commands to remove the boot loaders (I could not find any command to remove GRUB in the documentation)?

you can reinstall grub, and if you had the option originally, you will be able to boot both os'es, or you may have to edit your /boot/grub/menu.lst file. it is not that hard, just read the man page for grub.
i always install the bootloader in the mbr and it has never caused me any problems.
dunno, but i would prefer grub over lilo anyday.
if you have your windows xp cd, you can boot into recovery console and type 'fixmbr' to restore the mbr if you want to boot xp only.
