hi, i have a problem when making modules wiih my sound blaster card, the error is:

try if issuing "make rmproper" right after unpacking the source, before "make config" makes a difference.

ok, i do it but doesnt work, i recive:
/usr/src.linux-2.4] make rmproper
make: *** No rule to make target `rmproper'. Stop.

The reason you are having problems with that command is because it is make mrproper. The command basically performes a very hard core cleanup, similar to make clean, but also gets configs as well. Don't use this too often, or if you wish to retain old configurations. The term mrproper comes from a Brittish cleaning solution similar to Mr. Clean in the US.
