Problem while changing linux forgotten root password
Dear Friends !!!
I have forget my linux root password. i am following the below procedure to change it but facing problem. In GRUB, hitting 'e", then selecting the "kernel" line, hitting "e" again, and adding " single" to the end of the line. Pressing ENTER, and then "b" to boot. But after booting it is giving me following error. mounting root filesystem mount : error 2 mounting ext3 pivotroot : pivot_root (/sysroot, /sysroot/initrd) failed:2 umount /initrd/proc failed :2 freeing unused kernel memory : 128k freed Kernel panic: no init found. Try passing init= option to kernel Please Help me !!!, i will be very thankful :) Regards |
GRUB Error 2 : "Selected disk doesn't exist"
This error is returned if the device part of a device- or full filename refers to a disk or BIOS device that is not present or not recognized by the BIOS in the system. does the distro boot when not in single user mode? |
