Hi,
I wanted to open my session with my ID and password three days ago, but i can't login. Probably I've forgotten my root password or something like that, so i can't login to my sytem now.
I tried once and twice again to login, but now a warning like "your accout has expired, contact with system administor" has appeared.
I read all the related forum topics here, but they didn't helped me ;(
I tried to delete root password from Knoppix(/mnt/hda/etc/shadow) but i couldn't do it, too.
Then i read here something like it;
****************************
lilo: linux single
# passwd root
# Change password for root:
********************
But i don't know how to do it (how can i find Lilo? - once i tried from Lilo which is in Knoppix but it didn't work).
What can i do now to login my sytem again?
( I have XP and RedHat 9.0 on the same computer in different partitions).
Hi,
I don't have Cd's now, but i'll buy as soon as possible. But i prefer to install Mandrake 10.0.
Will it want my root password again when i tried to install Mandrake on it?
Is it possible to setup Mandrake on RedHat?
Regards,
Pinar.

There should be no problem installing madrake on the partition(s) where rh resides, but be aware that this will wipe _all_ data you have in rh. If there is anything that you want to save in your current linux, save it before installing mandrake.
