Ok, I know everyone is cringing because printing problems are usually a bear and have a lot of weird possible solutions. That aside, here is the deal:
I bought a Lexmark Z33 printer mainly because the support for Linux was there. My main printer usuage is for school papers so I basically need to word process simplistic stuff. I'm not a huge fan of AbiWord but it is the only word processing application in my distro (SuSE Pro 7.3) that will print properly. Everything else (Star, KWord, etc) renders fonts a couple of case sizes too big and with a crazy negative kerning that piles entire words on top of each other.
I installed the Lexmark driver (the most current) and went through all of the printer troubleshooting HOW-TOs and whatnot that I could get my hands on. I'm drawing a blank. If I was unable to print anything it would be different but this is just frustrating.
Anyone know where to start?
