Printing on both sides of the paper

Hello,
I have a redhat 9.0 machine and I had configured Network Printer(LaserJet) using KDE. I wanted print documents on both sides of the paper. kprinter(0.0.1) doesnt provide an for 'Printing on both sides'. I have LPRng-3.8.19 and there is no "Duplex" option. Finally I tried with "a2ps". This is the command I tried.

$ a2ps -s2 --quiet --no-header -d foo.txt

This prints two pages on the single side. I want to print two pages on both the sides of the paper. The a2ps version is "GNU a2ps 4.13".

I was trying to use some GUI applications to print on both sides of the paper, but no application had that option. So atlast I wanted to try a command line tool. I wasted a few number of papers. So, please suggest some applications or give me some ideas which can allow me to print on both sides of the paper.

Thanks
Seran

if you have cups installed and elect it as your print server rather than lpr you can choose print odd pages say 1-9 then remove papers and align then then print even 2-10?

Turboprint gives you access to a lot more of the printer options. Also, it is very much dependent on the "fornt-end" driver in the particular application.

If it makes you feel better, I believe that printing is one of the major flaws in the current Linux state of the art.
