Printing issue between Linux and SunOs with LPD
Hi everybody and happy new year.
This is a question googling me for about 1 month with not solution, so I ask you for a solution.
In my network i've a solaris SunOs server, where I setup my network printers queues using LPD with the command "lpadmin". The software running in it has drivers for most of the printer I have, so, when I print a page, it has all the control chars BEFORE to be sent throught lpd to a network printer.
So here begins the troubles: I have to setup a linux client to accept network lpd request from the solaris. Linux have to do a "dumb" printing of the request, because this already includes the control chars (sent by the sunos). If i use a driver, the page will pass 2 drivers, and this is not correct.
To setup the linux client i have used a Ubuntu with cups and cups-lpd. The request arrives to the client, but I can't setup a "dumb" driver for cups. Trying I've printed lots ok random chars and undesidered banner pages.
How can I setup a correct driver for cups in this situation?
thanks
