Printer problem: Couldn't open /dev/usb/lp0
Hi,
I am using CUPS for my printer configuration. I have "HP PSC 2110 all-in-one" printer. I configured it to use HP PSC 950, foomatic + hpijs (en) model/driver for it as I don't have one specific toh my printer. When I finish configuring it,it displays below information. Description: HP Printer Location: /dev/usb/lp0 Printer State: processing, accepting jobs. "Unable to open USB port device file "/dev/usb/lp0": No such device" Device URI: usb:/dev/usb/lp0 I can't understand as to why it can't open /dev/usb/lp0 when it's there with below permission. [root@RH80 deepika]# ls -al /dev/usb/lp0 crw-rw---- 1 root lp 180, 0 Aug 30 2002 /dev/usb/lp0 Can someone please tell me what is the problem? And I also need to know if I need specific driver for my printer and where can I get it from? Please help. Any information will be of great help. Thanks & Regards, Deepika |
the psc 2110 has a perfect working status::
read here there is docs plus driver so maybe the wrong model/printer configuration is making this be all messed up :D |
I know this might sound really very stupid but I want to know how can I find if a given printer is a PostScript printer or not. I have HP PSC 2110 all-in-one printer. I have gone through above link but didn't find any way of knowing that.
Please advice. |
