print from command line, normally use cups
I have cups working on my slackware machine and I can print to my network printer from X apps, like mozilla and such. But, if I don't startx, and want to send a text file to that printer, how do I do that?
Thanks. |
lpr <filename>
works fine on my Slack, provided the textfile is straight ASCII. |
lpr won't do it.
But, in searching around further I found that lpr-cups will do it. |
