Prevent apt-get from dynamically linking libraries

Hi all,

Is there any way when installing with apt-get to make it compile all necessary code into one executable rather than it dynamically linking libraries?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

apt-get compile nothing, it's just install existing files.
Anyway, could you explain what you are trying to achieve ?

I just wanted the full executable of wireshark. When I try to compile it myself in Ubuntu I get an error saying it cant find Yakk or Bison, so I used apt-get.

install yakk and bison (maybe the -dev packages too). alternately, apt-get build-dep wireshark

What does dynamically linking have to do with it?

But apt-get should bring you ready binary.
Did you try it and it doesn't work ?
