Preferred Desktop Environments

Hello all. Been using KDE since started using linux. I have found KDE to be a nice transition for someone who is accustomed to the MS desktop. My only beef is that it can be a bit chuggy on this old P111 500 with many apps running. What can the gurus' here suggest I use as a dt manager that is both lightweight and easy to use.
Thanks

Oh , KDE is quite a decent Desktop ; It got an awfull lot of usefull stuff , straight out of the box , particularly in the administration-department.
Unfortunately , it also carries a gawd-awfull donkey-cartload of crappola.
If you manage to cut that out of it clean , I think you'd be good to go.
If you manage that : mail me the howto , please.

Barring the aforementioned , I'd advice IceWM , but only 'cause that's the one I'm using now.
It's still A-OK , though.
