AFAIK you need an x86 system to run WINE so I don't thinkyou'll be able to run Windows programs unless you use an emulator. I doubt you'll be able to run OS X programs natively, as it's a completely different OS which has some extra Apple stuff added, particularly for the GUI. If you have the source code for a *nix app, though, you can always compile it for Linux,
Not sure about the second question -- I think it depends on the LiveCD (some load all the contents into memory, others require access to the CD).
Are you trying to install Linux to your hard drive? or just boot from a LiveCD? (If so, which LiveCD?) What kind of Apple computer do you have?
What kind of programs do you want to run that only work on Windows or Mac OS? You can't run programs for other OS's unless you run one of those OSs in a virtual machine or emulator.
thnx, i think i'll run linux on a virtual pc so that I can still maintain my mac os. Can I make two virtual pcs so that I can have virtual windows as well as virtual linux? Video gaming is the only thing that keeps me away from fully going over to Linux.
